So I get this call to contribute to an event that is happening for the first time in Abu Dhabi: collector's week took over the UAE capital with limited collector item displays stands, whether it’s cars, watches, sneakers…you name it, there is a collector in each one of us.
The event happened to be running in parallel with Semi
Permanent , bringing world renowned
artists like Aaron Rose and DANIEL ARSHAM. https://semipermanent.com/
That experience was one of my personal Career highlight;
my collection (20 years in the making) left my comfort zone, my home, my
office for the first time to be on display for the public. It was not mine for
2 days.
I took Daniel Arsham on a tour to
see his own products in my collection, we had a chat about the adidas business card I owned since his early days (first collaboration with adidas
called the past) and he acknowledged it is so rare and can't be found.
He took his phone to take a picture of the DS 1984 dunks
I had in my collection, We discussed art, drops, bots and no he is not hidden!
Another highlight during the event was me taking a step
back to watch peoples reaction going through my collection. It was a different
feeling. These stuff never left my comfort zone, my home, my office. For the
first time, public gets to see and interact whether jaw dropping reactions or
post on their social media Instagram, or discuss between each other, or listen
to my recorded stories.
To keep it short and simple, through this platform youbetterly, I went to places and met people I would never imagine meeting them, and I am grateful for that.
